About Dr. Nager

Dr. William D. Nager, ND, is a nationally board-certified and licensed naturopathic physician with over 25 years of clinical experience. Dr. Nager maintained a full-time general family medical practice in the Hartford, Connecticut area, before moving back to Portland 5 years ago. He is highly regarded for his skills as a homeopathic expert, as well as for the passion he brings to patient care. Dr. Nager’s enthusiasm for his work and his down-to-earth manner makes him a safe, comfortable ally for his patients.

Along with treating adults in his practice he has an expertise in using homeopathy and naturopathic therapies for the treatment of acute and chronic conditions in children. He treats children with many common childhood conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, allergies, colds/flu, colic, constipation, diarrhea, ear infections, eczema, insomnia, and teething. Dr. Nager has also helped children with developmental disorders, including autism, Asperger’s, ADD/ADHD, cerebral Palsy, PANDAS, Sensory Processing Disorder and tic disorders.

On a personal note his two children have been raised with the same philosophy of health he practices for himself. Neither of them have needed to see a medical doctor or needed to take prescription medication throughout their childhood. They were raised with naturopathic care and other natural health choices such as good diet, acupuncture, and chiropractic care.

His free time usually includes some sort of exercise. He enjoys hiking, biking, yoga and kayaking. He sees his naturopath and chiropractor regularly so his immune system and nervous system can keep him healthy. Between his naturopathic and chiropractic visits, healthful eating, and exercise, he can really say that he practices what he preaches.
